Two strong fighters with the same weight, small height difference but with 10 years in between them. Both have fought in many tournaments, and both have good results to show. It says a lot when they are included to represent the strong nations they do. Both Japan and Kazakhstan have very good fighters. Artyushin proved this spring that he is in very good shape. He won the Diamond Cup which had very many good fighters in the line up. Watanabe on his side has a number of years placed itself high in the All Japan Open, and qualified for the second day of the 8th World Championships and the 9th World Championships. Both have also more than a "tool" to end the fight early.

Perhaps not the biggest favorite set in the World Cup context, but if they were to meet as it is a theoretical possibility, there is bound to be a good fight! If they meet, both must win their first two matches. 41 year old Nomotohas have many years in the tournaments behind him. And for 9 years since he won the All Japan Open, and he has kept going since then. Will routine hold it against today's youth?!

In this battle we are going to put Lithuania against Kazakhstan. From block C, we find Donata Ibras and Alexey Leonov. But this is also in this field you will find some of the biggest athletes in well over 100 kg. Imbras have weighed in at 110 kg, while Leonov stands with his 80. In order for them to meet they must both overcome the very strong opponents. Imbras at risk to meet the tournament's second-heaviest performer, Kosei Ochiai (Japan) at 125 kg. Leonov on his side also has the same challenge: Charley Quinol (FRA) at 124 kg and Evgeni Andrushko (RUS) at 115 kg. But just these two will face each other in their 1 match. But if Imbras and Leonov winning their first three matches, they will meet. Can the technical Leonov master the super powered attacks from Imbras? Can Imbras get Leonov into a corner to take him out? Osaka from Japan are truly one of the veterans. 2.place in the 8th WT,7.place in the 7th WT, last 16. in the 6th WT. This speaks for on is own, and clearly this is a fighter with huge experience. And he may need all his experience if he advances with two victories.. Roman Nesterenko will stand on the tatemi if he wins his two first fights. Taking 4.place last World Tournament,1st place in the World Cup, and showing that he is in great shape winning the Australia vs The World tournament last weekend!

Maxim Shevchenko RUSSIA

Maxim Shevchenko came in on 5.place last World championship, and four years before that in the 7.th WT he advance through the openings rounds and placed himself among the 16 best fighters in the world. Norichika Tsukamoto -Like a Karate Quinton Tarantino, you never know what to expect , but you know it`s going to be good! He is the 6th WT champion and have also won the World Cup. If these to warriors battle through, and win their two first fights they will meet in the 3.rd round! Both men strong and technical ,and with tons of experience to back it up!

Another "dream Fight" on the line.. and this time are we talking about the "big guns"! As before if IF this fight are going to happen for real, both fighters must win their 4 first fights, but that will not be the first time for non of them! One defending his world title from 2007, the other one "revenge" his team mate loss from the final 07. Total 213 kg raw power will collide on the mat, and the outcome is hard to tell.. Maybe the one who have been taking most damage in the early fights.. well time will show..

Lukas Kubilius LITHUANIA

In this fight we have to fighters from the same weight category, only 3 kg between them. We think that Kubilius will be the puncher in this fight and Tsukakoshi on his side will power it up with lowkick and even it out..

Valeri Dimitrov BULGARIA

In October it is time for it 10.world championship, and the draw shows it is time for some epic full contact karate fights! Many wait in anticipation of how the different fighters going to do it, and that is always the greatest excitement among the big favorites .. It's always hard to predict how this tournament ends, for this is full contact! but there is always allowed play with ideas about who will win over anyone, not least which of the great fighters who meet and how those battle ends. And last but not least, this is an open weight, and when it is said, it is clear to players that do not meet in tournaments normally .. and then it is ready for dream fight!

Marius Ilas ROMANIA

Valeri Dimitrov and Marius Ilas To of the strongest fighters of Europe, and in the world for that matter! But Dimitrov in the -90kg and Ilias in the -80kg. But this time if IF they both win their 3 first fights....then it is ready for a dream fight! Both superb technicians ,maybe Ilas got a higher pace? -versus Dimitovs strength? Well time will show, and for all we know this fight never will happen ..but we have a feeling that it will!
