Throwback to 2014 – ten years back in time, We take a look at some fights from the tournament fought by Valeri Dimitrov

Usually we saw Dimitrov in European Championships and World Championships – in 2014 Dimitrov added another championship to his record: Mas Oyama Memorial Cup. The tournament was a memorial event to mark the 20 the anniversary of the death of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama. (videos)

As the tittle of the article say we will look at the fight vs Andrius Draugelis / Lithuania. The fought in the European Championship Open-weight final in November, Kaunas. Both with European Championship title from the EC in Baku, Azerbaijan same Spring.

Valeri Dimitrov fought 4 fights in both EC’s and 3 in the Oyama Memorial. In the Open-Weight EC, Dimitrov had to fight all four competitors coming from the host nation, Lithuania. Antanas Klibavicius in the first fights, Domas Sutkus, Vytautus Cepla in the semi-final, before Andrius Draugelis in the final.
