In major tournaments as the World Championship, European Championship, All Japan Open and so, the “Technical Award” will be given to the fighter that shows extraordinary technical skills in the tournament. Like the “Spirit Award” these awards will be given regardless if you win the tournament or not. To be given these awards in a world championship, really point out a extraordinary fighter. We start at the 7th World Championship, in 1999. This year the technical award was given to a Russian fighter. Viktor Karasyuk, Russia. In total he ended 8th place in total, after loosing to this years runner up Muzaffer Bacac, Germany.

The 8th World Championship, with several strong European fighters among the top 8. This years technical award winner made it to top 16, Danish heavyweight fighter Brian Jakobsen. On his way Jakobsen had strong wins, Japanese fighter Sotoshi Niiho among others. Looses against EC Champion Daniel Torok, after being close to tag him with a ushiro mawashi geri..
2007, the 9th World Championship. This year the technical award once again ended in Europe, Bulgaria to be accurate – Valeri Dimitrov. A supreme technician, this brought him all the way to 3rd place. That was one place higher that last World Tournament that ended with an 4th place. Dimitrov looses to in a close fight with Takayuki Tsukagoshi (Japan), who later become World Champion that day.

Technical seminar Denmark
The 10th World Championship was a big triumph to Japan. Not only did they win men and women divisions, runner up in the men category was also Japanese and the spirit ward and the technical award also went to Japan! And non other than the two times World Champion Norichika Tsukamoto took the technical award as he once again was World Champion that day. One of the most remembered moments was the fight with Roman Nesterenko, that ended with a spectacular knock out. And just Nesterenko had last world Championship (8th) a victory over – yes, Norichika tsukamoto…We will bring you a highlight with that especially moment well documented!

The last World Championship, 2015, the time was again Russia when it came to the technical award. Nazar Nasirov, Russia, made a strong impression this world tournament. Also beating a gentleman mention above, Jakobsen, before loosing to the very strong Lithuanian powerhouse Lukas Kubilius. Nasirov ended in total at 6th place.
