The 19th BRANKO BOSNJAK MEMORIAL

2014branka - KopiBranko Memorial (se the DRAW HERE) is a highly recognized tournament that has built up a reputation sit through nearly 20 years. The tournament is tough, challenging and well organized. Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, France, Greece, Italy, Austria and Croatia has fighters ready for this years tournament. The sharp competition between Europe’s strongest nations will take place in this tournament, and many of the up and coming fighters will make their mark.

Men lightweigt – 70 kg

In this division the level are very high. The Hungarian team with European Champion Gabor Rozsa i the lead will be a hard team to beat.Csaba Gal 2nd last year and Technical award.This team also represent almost 50% of the class. Two fighters from Bulgaria are also top lightweights, maybe most known Dimotrov Lachhezar, U22 Champion 2013. The Swedish team are going in to the tournament with three fighters, and this is young fighters on they way up. Milad Samizade just won the Swedish Open and Stefan Chervenko teh Danish Open champion from last year. France – Anthony Senechal 7th place in the IFK World Cup 2013, and third place in this tournament last year.

Branko70_14Men middleweight with 12 fighters. Domas Sutkus the Lithuanian was the runner up last year, also U22 Champion 2012 and 3rd place from European Championship 2013 with more. Team mate Justinas Kveitka, 2nd in U22 2013, third og the Lithuanian team, Aivaras Safikovas – 3rd Place in U22 2013. Poland known for hard fighters, Igor lamot – one of the young Polish fighters on the way up. 3rd place U22 2011, and have steady course in the top level.Hungary with two good fighters Tamas Popovics, 3rd last year, and Kovács Balázs. Milev miloslav from Bulgaria, national team member.

Branko80_2014Men light heavyweight -90 with 8 fighters from 8 nations. Polish top fighter Marek Wolny with 3rd place in EC 2012 and 2013, 5th place in The 45ht All Japan Open 2013. Petho Gergo – Hungary, U22 EC Champion 2011. Kestutis Radvila Lithuania, 2nd Open Ukraine Cup 2013, 2nd U22 EC 2011. Ivanov Nedelcho/Bulgaria – 3rd place last year and 2011.Fredrik Johansson- Swedish national team member, 3rd in the tournament 2011, IKKO Opnen 1st 2012.

 

branko90_2014Men heavyweight +90. This division has really something to look out for. Runner up last year, 2nd place EC Open Weight 2013. Dimitar Trampov, Bulgaria. Winner of last year tournament, and one of the veterans in the game. Top European fighter with a strong come back in his late forty. This is a true Budo practitioner, and with his participation we all get a bigger vision to it all. Margarint Dorin, Romanian powerhous 3rd i EC Open Weight 2012, and to times 2nd place in EC weight categories 2013/14. Kruno Terihaj, homefighter and winner of the tournament in 2011. Since then he has been one of the fighters reaching the podium several times.

 

branko_over90_2014 - KopiWomen division. Lightveight. Sofia Szabo /Hungary winner of last year, beating EC Champion Diana Maciute who also is at this year line up. Anett Leiter, Hungay – 2nd U22 EC 2013.

This year middle weight category is slimmed down from what we are uset to see, but the quality are good. Gudeliauskaite Gabija, Lithuania – 2nd in the EC 2014. Yanitsa Stefanova Bulgaria, one of the best fighter in the middleweight division at the time. She has been on the EC podium several times and will be one of the favorite.

The heavyweight are packed with top fighters. You will find EC champions and World champions in this category, all the fighters are really good, and this class it will be a rat race to the “finish line”!
