Also known for his incredibly strong finish in his matches, with a pressure, pace and power that is very difficult to resist. Good knock out set ups – like the high knee or the “death roll” that secured his EC tittle in 2018. EC Champion 2020 EFKO European Championships, and EC shin Champion 2021. Been national team member of the Lithuanian team for many years, representing them i European Championships and World championships across countries and organizations. Kembu Iriki pulls trough a very tough All Japan Open – Iriki been top three five times, in the last six All Japan Open’s. Includes winning the 48th edition – as he now does in the 52nd edition. This edition really fits the name: ALL JAPAN Open – where one can see top Japanese fighters from organisations and schools – that one in some cases did’t know existed! Two major victories was pulled of this weekend, 1. To face the challenge, organizing a tournament with the covid-19 and AND to manage to gather so many different fighters from different schools.
Legendary All Japan Open – the 52nd edition will be held November 21 & 22. Due to the Corona situation, there will be no spectators this time. Last edition gave us some really interesting fights. It was also a big effort, considering that this was a qualification for the world championship. To look forward to a great event now in these days are really good medicine!
Time fly, and ten years goes fast. European Championship Shinkyokushin was held in Spain, Logroño 4th – 5th June. Looking back, the level of top fighters attending in this edition was amazing. If we take the winners from both divisions, women and men, the champions was not only the best in Europe – but some of the best in the world! Look back, videos and full draw to find..
It seems naturally to follow up the last article – MAX 70, and continue with the MAX 80, held some years later. This time, as the tittle describes, we had the pleasure to watch the middleweight fighters of Europe go up against each other. Like 2011, a very competent women division – even harder competed i an Open-weight category. Once again the Tomasz Basiak Shinkyokushin Team held a fully professional event!
Once again, one of the northernmost Full Contact tournaments was held – Bergen, Norway. The event is top class from the organizer, and for almost twenty years the Bergen Karate Club has served this yearly. This year’s event brought together athletes from Poland, Sweden and the whole of Norway.
With abut two month to the European Championship Shinkyokushin 2020, Georgia, Tbilisi,and with the participants beginning to enter – we can registrar something interesting. Fighters from other organisations than the WKO/EKO are signing up – trough their country and their qualifying tournaments.
Stora Höga Open, Sverige er tradisjon for NKO klubber. Dette stevet er drøyt 3 timer unna med bil, fin tid på året, til en veldig akseptabel kostnad. I tillegg til dette er det også særdeles godt tilpasset bredden – et lavterskel tilbud. Annen inndeling ift alder på jr, og det eller beste det er en «minimum to kamper garanti» Her får man Champagne & kaviar til pølse & Cola pris. I år var det utøvere fra Egersund, Færder, Ringerike, Horten og Oslo. Barn – ungdom til senior fullkontakt utøvere hadde NKO på plass.
The 1st EFKO European Championship are history, the result well known, and 8 fighters – 4 women and 4 men are ready for the WFKO tournament i Osaka, Japan in May including the rest of the team from previous qualify. Many entertaining good fights was seen trough the 2 day tournaments – a short summary would be that favorites did as expected – and some new faces came trough the surface. The team behind the tournament has been working hard to make it happen, but as mention in the pre-article for the tournament, this was not necessary the easy task to complete.
