Swiss Open 2023 – results

For many years have Swiss Open Shinkyokushin been able to offer a full scale tournament for children and adults. Central in Europa, many nations enters Swiss Open.

We will only take a short brief from the adult category..

This edition of the Swiss Open had one category for women: Open Weight, and two categories for men: over / under 80 kg. In the under 80 kg category, seven fighters from three nations attended. Italy, Switzerland and Spain. And it was Spain who took this title with Javier Zamora Girbés. A nice turn over, after getting the hardest draw one can get in this years EC – facing Lasha Ozbetelashvili / Georgia in the first fight. Facing Sebastian Dutoit from Switzerland – Zen Du Ryu in the final. 3rd place to Pietro Donanzan / Italy. (Full DRAW)

Notable in this tournament one saw not only different organisations,but also different styles, as Zen Do Ryu and Makotokai full-contact Karate.

In the second category, above 80 kg, a fourth nation entered. Kazakhstan. Known for holding a very high level, in with Mukhamedkhadi Rostami proving this and going all the way to the top of the podium. Hugo Cruz Castello / Spain 2nd place and Maurizio Urraro / Italy. (Full DRAW)
In the 8 fighters women open weight category, one must say that there was a clear favorite: Brigita Gustaitytė / Lithuania. -who also did win the tournament. 2nd place to Maria Adriá Ruiz/ Spain. A good achievement taking into consideration that she usually fights in the lightweight category. 3rd place to Swiss fighter Angela Felber, who recently came into 3rd place in the IFK EC held in Armenia April.
