Mention several times before, one of the occasion was at the 17th All Asia Shinkyokushin Championship held two months ago. This time it was participating in the KWF World Championship held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The top spots in the tournament was mainly shared among Japan and Kazakhstan. Most of the top spots fell to other organizations, only in the women’s category did the host manage to capture some top spots.
Top Shinkyokushin profiles from Kazakhstan took several medals, men as women, and on their way to the podium they defeated some of the absolute top favorites, World and European champions! According to the official results Shinkyokushin Kazakhstan left the tournament with three World Champions in the men’s division and on top of that a World Champion in the women’s division as well! For many the final results offered some surprises as many of the favorites and heaviest merited fighters lost against up and coming fighters. Super favorite, double World KWU Champion, in the lightest category Artur Arushanyan, Armenia lost in the final vs Atsuki Ono, Japan. And in the -70 kg a similar case with Marcel Mansurov, Russia. But of course some of the heavy favorites as Artem Solovyev, Russia won the -80 kg category.
But in total, Kazakhstan and Japan made the strongest results, and this at the expense of nations/fighters that one tough would top this, based on merits. But this is also a result when one fight cross organizations. One of the reason why this is so interesting, is that in WKO Shinkyokushinkai, Kazakhstan is not a part of the European region, (that ill be the case in the most of other organizations) and therefore it not so common to see Kazakhstan if it’s not World Championship. This makes it also very interesting up against the World Championship WKO in Japan next year.
One of the match-ups in the lighter divisions or the result made many raise their attention towards the young fighter from Kazakhstan: Yerkebulan Beisembaeyev. Fighting the top favorite Russian fighter Marcel Mansurov. Mansurov recently won the KWF EC only 6 weeks ago, and he is the KWU World Champion from 2015. On top of that he is the reign IFK World Champion.. But Beisembaeyev possesses great skills and his high pace strong and various style are good enough to face the best. And in the fight with the heavy merited Russian top fighter, he not only shows great skills, but put the pressure on, and clips Mansurov with a roll-kick that’s connect. 4 judges calls Ippon since the blood from the head of Mansurov are dripping from his face. After 4 minutes medical treatment, Manusrov is admitted to continue the fight, and no scoring was given after all. War breaks loose after this, and both fighters are fired up. After decision, extra round was given, an quite even round, but Mansurov uses illegal techniques and gets counting warnings. Nevertheless, it is no doubt that Beisembaeyev was more than capable to keep fighting at this level.
In the next category, under 75 kg, the final was between Kazakhstan with Bauyrzhan Kumiskaliyev vs Pavel Cherepanov, Russia. Good merits, chosen to fight for the tittle belt WFKO back in 2014, and was looking very strong early in the tournament. But Kumiskaliyev not interesting to give anything for free..

In the light heavyweight under 90 kg one of the most known profiles of Shinkyokushin Kazakhstan: Vladimir Artyushin, took the tittle. The final was not held ( vs teammate Merey Suyunov) so the semifinal vs Japanese star Jo Miyahara was the last fight of the day in that category. Miyahara KWF World Grand Prix 2018 runner up, 1st place – WFKO Yamburg – 2016. Vladimir Artyushin on his side has 3rd place in World Championship Weigth categories WKO as his best merits, but one can add several open tournament tittles to his list.
In the heaviest category, over 90 kg, two very strong fighters met in the final. Ilya Yakovlev, Kazakhstan vs Vasily Samadurov, Russia. Vasiliy Samadurov the heavy favorite as he is reign double World KWU Champion 2015/17, EC champion Kan in 2015,runner up IFK World Championship 2017. Ilya Yakovlev, several open tournament tittles, and shown his level high in several occasions, 3rd place World Championship Weight categories 2017 WKO as his best results. A really good match up, but a a technically good and movable Yakovlev made this very hard for the more merited fighter..
