Around the world there was held numerous events to mark the 20th anniversary of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate. This one held in Hungary raised up to be one of the most prominent held overall. The tournament was one part of it – the memorial training and ceremony another.
The line up in the tournament was from the whole world. Top European fighters – naturally, faced top fighters from other regions. And similar to the world championships, the strongest regions as Kazakhstan, Russia and not least Japan.
