Russia Open 2016 – first day (FINALS LIVE 5.JUNE)
First day of Russia Open showed world class level of Kyokushin Full Contact Karate Fighting. In to the final day only two fighters from outside Russia are still to find in the tournament.

No big surprises came through the first day of Russia Open 2016. Top seeded fighters advanced in the tournament as expected. In the men`s division only Ilya Yakovlev made it to day two as non Russian fighter. Hard fights in many cases, and decisions on weight was used more than once.

The women`s category did not stand back for the men`s division. Several champions was to be seen in the line up, World Champion, EC champions as an example. Poland and Lithuania was from outside Russia, and both countries showed good fighting. Polish fighter did also advance to day two, but the two Lithuanian fighters lost their fight by decision – one of the decision was fair to say questionable.
