Lithuanain Championship 2014

With some of the best fighters in Europe at the line up, the Lithuanian Championship holds a remarkable high level. European Champions as Inga Mikstaite, Diana Mačiūtė and Mindaugas Pavilionis where some of the well known fighters who fought hard to reach the top of the podium.

The championship was attended by 20 women and 36 men . Women competed in three different weight classes – up to 55 kg. , Up to 65 kg. and more than 65 kg. Men fought in four categories – up to 70 kg. , Up to 80 kg. , Up to 90 kg. and more than 90 kg. Battles took place in accordance with the international karate Shinkyokushin WKO and ECO rules.
Women’s category to 55 kg .These two met in the finals in 2013 Shinkyokushin European karate championship that resulted in champion : Ruta Brazdžionytė and a silver medalist Diana. MACIŪTĖ. After a hard fight the champion became Diana. MACIŪTĖ that very actively supported by the fans.

Up to 65 kg. Two top fighters reached the final : Inga Mikštaitė and Gabija Gudeliauskaitė. In this final the heavy favorite Mikstate met a “hungry” Gudeliauskaitè.. see video..


The third category of women (over 65 kg. ) Last fight went Kaunas town club Fortitudo ,Nora Vaznelytė and Diana. Balsytė. This was relatively easy victory with a superb strike from Nora Vaznelytė to the body, that ended in knock out and victory.

.Men lightweight under 70 kg. This category was won by Jonas Eimontas, and in the final he fought against Jevgenij Jurut.↓

In the middleweight under 80, vice European Champion Vytautas Cėpla won, and in the light heavyweight under 90 kg Edgardas Sečinskis won his victory. In his final he beat a very strong Valdemar Gudauskas, and three extensions they fought before the winner was clear! In the heaviest category, the veteran Mindaugas Pavilionis won.

 

The Championship will decide who that will start for the Lithuanian team in European Championship in May, Baku. (with other fighters all ready clear after WC and EC tournaments)
