Kyokushin Midnight Sun Summer Camp 2014 – report

Tromso_camp2014So Kyokushin Tromsø Karate club once again held their annual summer camp. With top instructors and great hospitality, the Kyokushin Midnight Sun Summer Camp 2014 was nothing else than a big success..!

.

Kyokushin Karate comes from Japan, and in order to understand what this really means you must try to reach close to the source as possible. With Shihan Jiyuu Shibata 6th Dan, Sensei Shigeo Niitsu 3rd Dan, and Sempai Takuma Koketsu 2nd Dan, Tromsø Kyokushinkaikan definitely do their very best to achieve this.

These three top instructors are from three different Dojo`s, and it was really interesting to see how they explained some things with their own worlds and movements. Shihan Shiabata organized the training in order what the theme was, and who of the instructors that was going to lead the sessions.

The camp offered any angle of Kyokushin Karate, Basic, Kata,Kumite – and the bond between them. The understanding of these elements allows all elements enhanced and achieved improvement in Kumite if one understands basic training – and vice versa.

This is something that most of Karatekas with some experience know, but sometimes it is hard to see the connection or to know how to used the right “tool” to reach the goal. And especially if you are an instructor and would like to teach to others, then you need to have the knowledge as wide and deep as possible.

The camp did also reach out to other countries, Japan with the instructors, Norway as the host country, but also Finland and Russia had athletes. The camp dis also reach out to other organizations – as Tromsø Karate Club with their big heart are known for. The total of Karatekas in the camp was around 80 people, and (here we are a little uncertain) 7 – 8 Dojo`s. Big Osu to Sensei Bjørn and Øystein from Tromsø for organizing the camp with help from the rest of the members and friends. See full report/photos Tromsø website!

Sokyokushin_instructorsFor those who don`t know so much about these instructors, we recommend to get to know them as soon as possible! Tons of photos here , visit Tromsø Sokyokushin for more and Augdal.net!!
