In a few days, we will know the results of this year Swedish Open. Many good fighters will battle for the top spot, and we would like to take a closer look on some of them. Lightweight category do have a very good line up, especially from the host country Sweden. But the challengers are lined up as well..
Ziyafatalla (Milad) Samizade, Sweden.
Milad, the reign Swedish Open Champion from 2014, he is also the reign Danish Open champion 2015 – Danish Open, being the “sister tournament” of Swedish Open. Among the best junior fighters in Europe, and at last the test against fighters at senior level. Milad did a notably strong conversion to senior category, winning well established tournaments his first year as a senior pointed him out as profile. Defending his Swedish Open tittle – will he take the tittle this year as well?
Stefan was the runner up in The European Championship (junior) in 2010, and was noted as a very good technician, clean fight style, well rounded in any distance. Winning the Swedish Championship 2014 and 2015, and internationals tournaments was taken parallel to this. Danish Open champion in 2013, and Dutch Open Champion in 2014. In a hard lightweight category one need this kind of skills to advance, how long – time will show.
Jevgenij Jurut, Lithuania (pufasfoto.lt ⇓)
Fighting out from one of the strongest Kyokushin nations in Europe, one have to be good. Representing Lithuania in this year European Championship, and also and participating in the KWU European Championship, where he reached the podium – 3rd place. Have been showing very good kicking skills, that have ended in spectacular knock outs. 3rd place last time he fought in the Swedish. A top fighter from Lithuania will be in the reach of the podium in Swedish Open.
As some of the fighters above, Sjölund also made a great impression entering the senior category. Victories, and several tournaments among the top three gave him a good start. Christoffer Sjölund with his fight style also received “best fighter” or “technical award” more than one time after real crowd pleaser fights. “always” among the top three in Sweden tells us about stable level. Stepping up in harder tournaments, Sjölund`s results seems to paused, but all know that`s is only temporary.
In this weight category, we have even more great fighters, and we could easy added some more to the countdown..we have Swiss Champion, World Champion, several fighters with great merits..
