Riri Ishihara recently won the World Championship – lead by her father Tadashi Ishihara. By winning the World Championship, Riri copied her father from 1997, where he won the very first World Championship in weight categories.
We found it interesting to take a look back at this tournament held in 2013. This version of the All japan Open had a strong support of fighters from other nations as well, and if we take some of the profiles – that can in matter of fact face each other again in the 7th World Championship coming up in September.
Valeri Dimitrov do also got several EC tittles in the Open-weight category. Starting back in 2002. In 2012, the Open-weight was reborn again, and since then the tournament has been organised several times. We collected videos, finals from 2018,2014 and 2012 – and one video from 2002 in the eliminations rounds.

Taking the European Championship tittle i 2018 – moving up i the heaviest category with stiff competition more tittles and being the best fighter of the tournament as well.

2021 are history, tournaments held and champions crowned. Looking back trough the year we have many good fights and tournaments, mainly European Championships, All Japan Opens and that category – not many Open nationals. We take a look into the men’s division!
Picking up the training at the competitions has been this year focus. More or less all have felt the impact of the pandemic, but no doubt that the differences between where you live comes into play. Nevertheless many fights of inspirations – as always. And the level in the women’s category has never been better.
Som mange har etterspurt: VM for kvinner fra 1996! Elisabeth Jakobsen: vant VM + x2 EM champion m.m! Gunnhild Moen 2. plass i samme VM, etter mange tøffe kamper. Ledet av vår aller beste gjennom tidene: Kjetil Vigre. Dette var det 1.VM for kvinner, og ansees per i dag som et av de aller sterkeste.
27th, 28th and 29th December the All Japan Open will be broadcasted on the official WKO Shinkyokushin channel. The championship will be transmitted in three parts, shared over three days.
