Ōyama Masutatsu, who founded Kyokushin Karate, considered the first and most influential style of full contact karate.
No doubt that Kyokushin Karate changed – not only the karate aspect, but the Full-contact setting in total.
Where had you been today without Oyama, and Kyokushin Karate?

Handles every technical aspect, have fought against the best.Has won several Open tournaments as Scottish, Swedish, Danish. Branko Memorial and taken step by step up to the European top. Two times 2nd and one champion (2018) The Diamond Cup, 3rd place in EC 2016, European Champion 2017.

Hiroki Kurosawa.
The name will immediately give us associations to mental strength beyond the normal, physical stamina and determination that has made him world famous. And he will also for always represent the true soul of bushido.
We can not writhe, say or make something that describe Hiroki Kurosawa completely.
We can only thank him for all inspiration, and for given us perspective of how far a strong spirit can bring us.
We are for real closing in to the European Championship in Denmark, and as we can see this will be a great one! Organizers as well as competitors are doing a good job, and the different categories are been filled nicely up! Taking the number of fighters and their level, this EC will hold a very high level. Since last time Denmark was the EC host, fighters have come and gone…and some actually have stayed!
Swedish Karate Kyokushinkai, known for long tradition and well known profiles. Sweden have manage to raise their total Karate Kyokushinkai level through long and hard work – the Kyokushin way. We could say a lot about this, but we will focus on this years EC Team, because we believe that it is one of the strongest in a very long time!
Each year we get the ranking by Kyokushin results website. This rankings will maybe take a little time to read, but a long time to write and publish. This is some real research and statistics, to make us have a good time reading about this favorite topic. This is not an easy job, thinking of the many many tournaments that Kyokushin fighters attend each year. It have never been so many EC`s as we see today to name one challenge, the level of them a another one… and a third – if a top seeded fighters changes her/his name,will we get it? 😉
Klubbleder John Ahmed Skinnes har drevet med kampsport både som aktiv utøver og for mosjonen sin del i til sammen 10 år. Med base fra tradisjonell Shotokan Karate ligger den tekniske forståelsen godt fundamentert hos han, og gjennom de siste år med Shinkyokushin trening kommer også den fysiske og mentale tøffheten frem!
Hva venter deg i møte med Østfold Shinkyokushin?
All Russia Championship in Weight Categories was held i December 2016. The level of the Russian fighters, their level is very good,and in Europe it is very interesting to follow – since they do not have them in the EC. And not least now that we are up to this summer’s World Championships in weight classes. And many thinks that Russia will enter with some of the favorites..
As the previous article we will look at some of the finals held in 2016. This time it is directed against women classes and some of the athletes who have been prominent there. As in the men’s division, unfortunately we could not get as many we wish. But an excerpt from the same tournament we had the article about men’s classes. The fighting style evolves and there is no doubt that there has never been higher level level than now.
It is also more and more fighting across the organisations borders, and that gives an extra excitements in to it.
Valdemaras Gudauskas, Lithuania
went through the U-22 EC tournaments with a blast, winning the tittle 2012, 2013 and in 2014. He continued his strong aggressive fighting entering the EC podium for seniors, also in 2014 (3rd place) Advancing the next years, and being European Champion in 2015/16/17. Also chosen to represent Lithuania in the 5th World Cup in 2013, and at the World Tournament in 2015, where he advanced to the 4th round. We believe this is just the beginning..
