Carpathia Cup 2025

May 17th – one of Poland’s largest championships is being held: Carpathia Cup 2025 (The Polish Open All Karate Org! The championship has fostered many great champions, and more are on the way. Are you one of them?

Carpathia Karate Cup have a rich history. In today’s picture, it is not easy to keep an “Open” tournament alive and “hot” The high frequency of various European Championships, European Cups, various World Championships and Cups is killing many “normal” championships. The Carpathia Open seems to be standing firm and that is of great importance.

Championships like this create an arena for tomorrow’s champions. And the unique thing about this tournament is that tomorrow’s champions can see top athletes fighting on the same mat they were on earlier in the day. And remember Kata as well as Kumite. Just for fun, we will bring you ten years back in time – Carpathia Cup 2015. If we take a look at the results we can see many well known fighters – some are retired now in these days. If we look at the women +65 kg – 1st. Anna Bojda / Poland, 2nd Svitlana Legno / Ukraine, Agata Kaliciak (Winiarska)  / Poland and Kristina Hupian / Slovakia 3rd place.

But even more fun if we dive a little into the junior categories – because there we have them: the champions of tomorrow! In the +70 kg boys cadets, a young fighter with name Paulius Žimantas / Lithuania – well safe to say a champion of tomorrow at the time. Žimantas did also win next year – 2016

In the girls cadets -60 kg a young Hungarian fighter stands on the top of the podium: Lily Mezo / Hungary. One of the larger profiles today in the women’s division. As you can see, all the strong nations are represented – in all categories.

Since this is in Poland, Rzeszów, it is natural that they are represented strongly in the tournament, and another top fighter we could find fro 2015 – in the -65 kg Women juniors – Monika Zielińska / Poland – known as one of the best fighters in Europe and reached the World Championship final as well after a while!

The number of athletes in Carpathia Cup has been among the highest in Europe when it comes to tournaments like this. In 2015 it was 385 fighters from 64 clubs from 8 countries. 2020 Over 850 competitors from Belarus, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Israel, Denmark, Sweden and Poland took part in the Tournament!
