British Open 2014

2014_British_Open-KopiBritish Open approaching and thanks to strong sign up from many countries and organizations, this appears to be a memorable tournament. It is believed that there are Russian domination as usual, but several organizations have with athletes, so it may be some variation between the organizations.

The British Open stands for tradition.

The tournament is not dominated by Eastern Europe countries that we are used to see in other regular tournaments in Europe. Countries as Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Bulgaria, and Romania are little or not involved in British Open. These counties are we used to see dominate in level as well as number of participants.

Russia has been the leading nation, and has taken about what they want.  Host nation Great Britain has been solid, but the last year also they have been missing the top spots. This year we can see the cooperation through the KWU are bringing inn new fighters. Kyokushin – Kan/ Royama has joined this year, and they are there to reach the top. Almost all top Russian fighters from this organization are ready, and from IFK we have the counterpart with their top Russian fighters.

But there are of course other top fighters. Spain, Sweden and U.K. have very strong fighters ready. The big question is, how the seeding /draw going to be. Well about a half week we will know. We will wish all fighters good luck, and in Kyokushin fighting there are no loser. To take the steps in to the tatami, which can be the loneliest island in the World, require much preparations and will.
