27th, 28th and 29th December the All Japan Open will be broadcasted on the official WKO Shinkyokushin channel. The championship will be transmitted in three parts, shared over three days.

Kembu Iriki pulls trough a very tough All Japan Open – Iriki been top three six times, in the last seven All Japan Open’s. Includes winning the 48th & 52nd edition – as he now does in the 53rd edition. Chihiro Kubota defend her tittle from the 52nd, and a raising star comes into the final in Suzuki Mihiro. Two major victories was pulled of this weekend, 1. To face the challenge, organizing a tournament with the covid-19 and AND to manage to gather so many different fighters from different schools.

Lili Mező took the European Podium with storm. Into the senior categories in 2019, challenging not only strong fighters, but even taking on the absolute top fighters of Europe. 3rd place in the EC weight category in Vilnius 2019. Only month later, the first (senior) EC tittle was a fact, EC Open Weight. Once again, taking on EC champions – and being the one taking the tittle. 2021 – 2nd in the EC weight category and once again EC Open Weight champion. Sharp Technically, and physically – the future will be very interesting!

For å i det hele tatt delta i VM til neste år, må man kvalifisere seg gjennom å vinne EM. Det beskriver nivået og ikke minst hvilke høye krav som stilles til utøvere som får delta. Therese N Østebrød og Marleen Gregusson var på plass i Litauen som utøvere, Bo Vidar Larsen representerte NKO som dommer.

Lørdag 20. November, var NKO på farten, og det i stor stil. Flere klubber deltok på Lørenskog – Cup, både med utøvere, apparat og dommere. NKO’s verdier synliggjøres virkelig denne helgen, med full aktivitet på flere steder på alle nivåer! Lørenskog fikk besøk av Bergen, Arendal, Modum, Egersund, Ringerike og Horten. Samtidig var det høybelte gradering på Ringerike med, Horten, Arendal, Finnsnes, Oslo og Ringerike.

En liten delegasjoen fra NKO, Ringerike så sitt snitt til å kombinere harry-tur og Karate, og resultatet ble deltagelse i Okawa Cup, Kungälv. Det var 130 påmeldte utøvere, og det ble konkurrert i Kata og Fight, lørdag til kata og søndagen var det fight.

In two weeks, the European Championship for cadets, Juniors and U-21 takes off in Romania. With close to 450 competitors this European Championship raises up beyond expectations! This also gives us a clear answer in the case of organizing U-categories in a own EC tournament – no doubt about it, the numbers are too high if one mix seniors and U-categories together at the same tournament. This is the future!
