A visit to Ochanomizu Dojo, Japan!

2015_JapanIITop class instructor Kumiko Sunakawa Sensei, teaching Shinkyokushin Karate in Ochannomizu Dojo, Japan. Several Karatekas from overseas train Karate during their stay these days, not only waiting for the World Championship.

Good training and a great atmosphere met us in the Ochanomitsu Dojo!

Sensei Kumiko - KopiKumiko Sunakawa Sensei gives us a warm welcome when we step inside the Ochanomitsu Dojo. Training goes fast, and we know why: this is really great! 🙂 Sunakawa Sensei teach Shinkyokushin Karate with great skills. And uses her body to explain, as we are several from overseas. We understood and tried to work hard , Sweden, Norway and Japan!

2015_JapanITraining today. First warm up, then a little kihon and basic/ Ido geiko. This was being followed up with Kata training with the good Karatekas from the Dojo. In the end we dis some low speed fighting – focus in the technical part. So sparring in higher pace. Last a jumping session that everybody loved!

I was more than happy for this welcome. Having a injured knee from before, I was wondering how would I make the training. During the training this was taken very good care about.

Good understanding from all the people, and Sunakawa Sensei also did nice variations for me in the basic and the Kumite part, so the knee could rest.  We will come back with more!
