Danish Open 2015

DansiholdSaturday 5th of September, it is once again time for the Danish Open. This is no less than a 25-year anniversary for the the traditional full contact tournament. The tournament has been where several top fighters has entered, specially from the northern Europe and the Eastern Europe. And for many, this could be the last stop before the World Tournament i Japan later this year. The tournament offers 4 divisions for men and 3 for women. And it is worth to notice that it will also be held a +40 years category for men – open weight class.

Danish Open held first time in 1985, and from than held every year with some naturally breaks. The tournament was not held in 95,99,2005. 99 and 05 it was not held because of the European Championship was arranged in Denmark. After 2009 it was held every other year. So 2011,2013 and now 2015. This was done during the cooperation with Sweden, that they held Swedish Open the opposite years.

Danish Open has also been a place where full contact styles meet. Several styles of Full Contact as Ashihara, Kung Fu and others. That said the Danish Open is a Kyokushin tournament with traditions, and the rules are as we know – like the fighters, mainly Kyokushin. The point is that this is an area where everyone can join! -and of course the Danish hospitality emphasizes this every time!
