Russia captured three medals last World Championship in weight categories, and also been visible in the World Open Championship in Japan. Their team are ready, some new faces, some well known profiles..

Russia has been a factor with high level fighters, and did also organize the 4th World Championship (Cup) back in 2009. If we take a look at their results trough the history, Russia has always been on the podium in the World Championship in weight categories. The greatest profiles would be champion in heavyweight back in 2001 Denis Grigoriev, and the middleweight champion from 2009 Roman Nesterenko, who also was on the podium in 2013. Last time in 2017, two second places was taken in the men’s division by Maxim Smolyakov and Nazar Nasirov, and Anna Vishniakova manage 3rd place in the women heavyweight.
