20 HOUR SPIRIT! Taken from arkive 2008 |
The idea behind this event was to train 1 hour for each year the club has existed. This must be done in a weekend so you keep work and school outside
Ringerike Karate Klubb/Dojo 20 years:
Sit down and calculate what it really means to train 20 hours
from Friday 18.00 to Sunday 12.00 am.
Divide the time you do not exercise on food, shower and sleep.
One need not have extensive experience with training to realize
that there was a major challenge in this celebration. Top
sports athletes train 15-20 hours... But
it's in a week.
|
14 people participated in all sessions and more than 40
practitioners visited, which meant that there were about 25 athletes in
virtually all classes .. This is incredible and nothing else! A
perfect blend of youth and adults, too, and a good mix of routine and young
blood was there, too. A great advantage in the large amount of training is that you get a lot of reoutations and no breaks including job or things that can change your focus..Adding the foundation in the early sessions with the principles and drills it is easier to have something to fall back on when the head is "falling out" at the end. This must be said that we succeed because it was unusually large increase of those who participated. And then especially on the athletes who participated in all sessions. |
There was great excitement about who and how many people managed to keep the entire course. But of the 15 who had endeavored to stay the course so there was not one who threw the towel! It must be commended for the good mood that was in place at any time. Even when it was really hard! When fatigue and exercise soreness peaked, it is easy to start hanging with the head, but not among this bunch ;o)
There was a constant mental battle to get started after minimal
breaks. But
in addition to good mental strength was all very good with the intake of food
and drink at every opportunity, and without this had guaranteed people broken
and had to be surrendered for that reason. This
shows good knowledge in relation to how the body / activity and nutrition go
together.
|
|
Despite the fact that there was little time for breaks, you would think that the time was excluded to (eat) and sleep. But socializing, being with the other was the election was far more tempting than to sleep! This makes the camp very nice! Of course when the body finally requires its, then you have to take a power nap! But otherwise it was a fight posetiv GO atmosphere allow us which contributed greatly to keep the spirit up and motivate themselves to drag the start of the next session.
|
Another factor
that (I at
least) was
appreciated was
that it was a
lot of practice onthose
who did
not take the
entire camp.
|
Night session early
Sunday was
"turning the
session" This was
the seventh sessionin a day, and
after the toughest period in
the course of
the weekend was veryimportant
that this
session was a
session where
everyone got a
boost mentally. And
that was it! This
was determined to
get a good
feeling and
a boost in spirit! |
|
|
Last session .... in advance was a rumor started to spin: it should be pads training as"death Tuesday ".... The last session was 2 hours and it is hard considering what the body has gone through before. The first hour was sparring with the task of building upuntil you ended up in free sparring. Last hour it was ready for belly belt protection andpad! The hours that followed dug every deep, really deep .. this was extremely how much each one gave of themselves.
|
Warm down and stretching with
a partner completed 20
hours. There was a
feelingthat is impossible to describe,
and many were touched
and proud to
have taken
up this challenge.
..and of course work monday morning was not funny at all!
