Vasiliy Khudiakov vs Takayuki Tsukakoshi

In the 9th WT met Vasiliy Khudiakov several strong fighters, and given that this is a tournament with open-weight category, it`s  very strong to advance as a lightweight. He ended up among the 16 top fighters, and it was the tournament winner, Takayuki Tsukakhoshithat put an end to his advancement.

In the 2. round of the tournament Vasiliy Khudiakov had to fight two ext. rounds before he won agaist Olexiy Kasatonov. In this fight Khudiakov was giving away almost 40 kilos! Entring round three, home fighter Shinji Sakamoto stood on the other side of the tatemi, and this fight did also go 2 exstra rounds before Vasiliy advanced, once again.

The 4th round : Takayuki Tsukakoshi 116kg (Jpn) vs Vasiliy Khudiakov 71kg (Rus) This could not go the Russian way. Even if  Vasiliy Khudiakov had been fresh this would be a very hard task to solve. Giving all he had for the last time in the tournament, Vasiliy Khudiakov was stopped, but no one felt that he loose giving his very best. And the spirit award was well earned!
