Japan 2011 - World Tournament

Its time..!

4 years have passed since the last World Championship. For me this was the firstWorld Cup I had been and it was also the first time I came to Japan. The experiencewas great, and it was mighty impression that hit at the time. There was never anydoubt that this would be repeated. It was a long journey to take alone in 2007, Sensei Sjur had arrived a few days before I came. The time on the plane went still so fast that I did not sleep a single second! I do not think it happens this time, but I know a little more what's coming this time. From practicing Kyokushin in Norway, in 2007, great changes for many of us.

When we entered the WKO Shinkyokushin opened the world up. Previously, we had no links to foreign countries, and none of us fought internationally. In the spring of 2007 the road to what would be the final choice began. Ringerike Karate Club participated first in the Danish Open, and on the Swiss Open. The openness was from the organizers was big-hearted, and Swiss Open gave us(me) a sense of something more than just compete in nå tournament. There was also meeting with Midori Kenji Shihan for the first time.

Autumn came and it was time for the World Cup. Sensei Sjur was taken out to attend, and I had the honor to join as a coach. And imagine until then had Swiss Open was the biggest venue I had been on .. but no matter the challenges wasof the posetive characters, and then just get carried away! -which we have done since then! This time we travel more people from Norway. I have again been fortunate to be allowed to be Norway's coach, while Sensei Sjur has been promoted as a judge. It's great for us normal people this, and many do not understand this. The only thing I dread is that I know the time in Japan will go terribly fast ...and after that wait everyday with work and daily routines. But I also know that the stay during the World Championships will provide memories that even the heaviest work day can break!

...Japan here we come!!
